I love to try out creating new fabrics and mixes to better illustrate nature. Yesterday was one of those experimental days. Managed to come up with some great water effects, and nice combinations of heathland plants and colours. I've started to record the methods in a notebook so that I don't forget how I achieved them. All good fun. I'l post more pictures later.

Hillside views
I love this sunny, though cold weather, making the landscape so bright and sparkling. No snow, as yet. Though it is forecast for this afternoon/evening.

Snow keeps me in and work beckons.
Snow today, not too much and it didn't stick for long, it has kept me in and inspired me to get on with some work.

new work
I must try to remember to take photo's of my work before sealing it in cellophane. Please excuse the light flashes in some of my pictures.
Another beautiful day of sunshine and blue sky that makes landscape gazing such a treat.

Moel Felli. North Wales
Inspired by a lovely photograph by archaeologist Gillian Smith. I've tried to capture the beauty of our heathland colours that vary so much through the year, and contrast stunningly with the sunlit valley.

Welsh landscape
I'm really enjoying creating these collages. I try to use recycled materials wherever possible and am accumulating quite a collection of old buttons, beads and odds-and-ends. The fabrics are mainly discontinued samples given to me by my old friend (another Liz). I like to use Swarovski crystals and glass beads to give that wonderful sparkle, and of course, lots of imagination.
Since becoming friends with a fascinating archaeologist Gillian , I'm now keen to include the excitement of discovered and hidden treasures connected to our nation's history that linger in our landscapes, especially those yet to be uncovered.
