Recent work

Though the lock-down and Coronavirus has restricted my speaking role in schools, universities etc.  I have remained busy art-wise.  I sketch every day.  25 of my recent sketches are now published in my latest book, 'Lock-down Sketchbook', and depending on interest, I have lots of work waiting for future books and other offerings, maybe blank cards etc.

I have a love for teddy bears, in particular, 'Charlie Bears', and I sketch them from time to time.

A look back at some of the school shoes I owned way back, when I was in my early teens, (even earlier than that).  I remember them well.

NEW BOOK NOW AVAILABLE

Hope you are all fine in this difficult time.  I have stayed busy in lock-down, as all my usual work has ended due to the pandemic.  I have produced a short, (24 page) Lock-down Sketchbook, which is now on sale via the attached link.  It contains 25 sketches carried out over the lock-down, and I have left some blank space throughout the book for you to record your own sketches or words around this trying time.  Stay safe everyone.

Here are some of my latest sketches;

Frustrated

I am still waiting to get my laptop back.  It's been away since October, with just a few weeks of having it back, then off again with another problem.  I can't wait to be back on Blogger and Facebook, sharing some of my art, and new directions I'm exploring.
I wonder if anyone will be out there and interested!  Maybe not.

Llangar Church. Corwen North Wales

A lovely photograph of this ancient church, taken and posted by https://www.facebook.com/gillian.smith.182940?fref=hovercard, really took my eye. In this coloured sketch, I have tried to capture the spiritual atmosphere of the site.

What a lovely cottage a stones throw from a beautiful beach.  Would love to spend a few days there.
Further down the road,  I wonder if this is the same cottage....Now I really want to stay there.
A well know establishment near Llanrwst, 'Tu Hwnt I'r Bont'  ( Beyond the Bridge). Amazing colours that change with the seasons.

maybe a set of greetings cards!

I've been working on some simple sketches I would love to produce as a range of blank cards for a local nature reserve visitors centre.  Let me know what you think.

weather change, day inside

Well, today has been the first day in ages that I've spent inside.  We've had some rain, not much, and a dull day, but not cold...but with a Grand Prix on and a great deal of housework to catch up on, I decided to make it an interior day...
Grand Prix was great...not much housework done...but I did get on with some sketches...I learn every day where art is concerned and I'm always trying out working with paints in different ways and trying out varying techniques with using paints...will post this weeks trials later....

Care Home mural No. 1, up.

So glad to see that my wallpaper mural is now up in the Care Home that commissioned it.  Life size, it is creating a talking point for the residents.
Thrilled that they are so pleased with the finished result.

A great day of exploring..

At least once a week I have a full day of experimenting with art products, techniques and trying out new techniques.  Sometimes, I feel I have wasted a day and, often, materials too.  Yesterday, I made a few discoveries that will have positive results.  It was a good, though messy day. I even managed to complete a few more paintings.
